The event was a time to showcase some of the facts about hearing, from how long it takes for people to seek assistance after noticing symptoms to why hearing protection is essential.
It felt fantastic to reach out to the community and inspire people to speak to an audiologist for the first time.
These are some of the ways in which my team and I raised awareness.
New reading material
I found one of the best ways to get the word out to people about the benefits of healthy hearing was to create a series of articles.
#1 – Why Do So Many People Have an Untreated Hearing Loss?
This article gave you an insight into why people wait an average ten years before speaking to an audiologist about their symptoms while their hearing loss worsens.
#2 – What Happens at a Hearing Consultation?
This article gave you a backstage pass concerning what you can expect when you first come for a hearing consultation with me from start to finish.
#3 – Why Hearing Loss Prevention Is as Important as Treatment
In this article, I showed you why it is as important to protect your ears from harmful sounds as it is to treat hearing loss symptoms when they first emerge.
How I got the message out
During Hearing Health Awareness Month, it was important for me to reach out to as many people as possible. That’s why I used every communication method at my disposal – from chats in the street to social media posts on Facebook.
In total, we scheduled 200 meetings, made 250 calls, and held 5 Virtual Appointments. It was great to see so many new faces (behind masks) during these interactions!
Our Trusted Patients Shared Their ‘Hearing Loss Stories’
Throughout Hearing Health Awareness Month, we collected stories concerning our patients’ experiences. These are some of the examples:
“Dr. Michelle stood out. Not only because only is she a highly qualified audiologist, but because she is a warm and caring human being… She has very high standards and was not content with my hearing correction until I was.”
Jane
“Dr. Michelle is patient, kind, and determined to give her patients maximum results. With my experience, other audiologists do not even compare to Dr. Michelle. She is truly a special unique person that is passionate about her patients.
“She is very patient even in difficult and frustrating situations. She takes her time to truly listen to her patients’ concerns and makes it her mission to find them the best solutions.”

Thank you!
I’m so grateful to everyone who supported this year’s Hearing Health Awareness Month and helped to spread the word about care and treatments in their own way.
However, it’s essential that we don’t stop here!
So if anyone you know has concerns or worries about their hearing, please ask them to give me call at (786) 627-7858, and I’d be happy to help them find a solution.
