Hi, Doctor Michelle here.
So today we’re in my office, and my office is nice and quiet, and I’m certain that every one of you, hearing well or not, is hearing me clearly. But some situations make hearing difficult, and we’re going to demonstrate them to you.
*Traffic noise* Are you having difficulty hearing me now? That’s because the noise you’re hearing is coming from a bus stop on the overseas highway.
*Restaurant noise* Are you having difficulty hearing me now? That’s because the noise you’re hearing is a crowded restaurant.
*Crowded meeting noise* Are you having difficulty hearing me now? That’s because the noise you are hearing is a crowded meeting room.
*Construction noise* Are you having difficulty hearing me now? That’s because the background noise is a construction site.
*Crowded social event noise* Are you having difficulty hearing me now? That’s because the background noise is a social event.
*Church choir singing* Are you having difficulty hearing me now? That’s because the background noise is a church service that’s going on.
If you are having difficulty, it could indicate that you have some hearing loss.
Please contact us so we can assess your hearing. Remember, this wasn’t a hearing test, so please don’t try this at home.
