In this episode of my new video series Hearing Help by Dr. Michelle, I discuss what an audiologist is.

I am an audiologist, but what is it that I do? Let me tell you…

I studied for eight years to obtain my Doctor of Audiology, which allows me to evaluate, diagnose, treat, and manage hearing and balance disorders.

I am qualified to do this for newborn babies, adolescences, adults, geriatrics, anyone at any age is able to receive the services of a Doctor of Audiology. Often, people confuse the audiology profession with other individuals in the field who are certified to test hearing and dispense hearing aids. Both professions are dominant in our nation, but an audiologist is your primary health care professional that is going to be able to take care of your needs.

I hope I’ve provided you with a better understanding of the profession of audiology.

See you soon!

Do you know somebody that needs to see this? Why not share it?
